“I think both sides did pretty well. The London Broncos looked well prepared and full of energy. A bit better organised [than Skolars] reflecting that they have been in camp longer than we have. I think we showed that we will be a tough nut to crack and as usual a big, rough pack. The backs have got better as well”
“We really missed Dave Williams and James Anthony when they got injured. Also John Paxton is still out injured and he will add fire power. For the fans I thought it was a great day out and how good was the pitch!”
“We will work with the Broncos on players this season. It didn’t work great this year but should be better this one. I think the London Clash could become massive for the game here. Shame the New River is still a building site but the pitch shows what can be done. A new clubhouse all to ourselves will be massive for the club’s future and also bonding the 400+ players and hopefully their friends and family will all bond more to the club. We will be one of the only clubs along with Hemel Stags with our own bar 7 days a week. Add new offices and gym and it’s all very exciting.”
"I think the London Clash next year should be a real ramp up again. I thought the crowd was great especially a week after the Capital Challenge. Shows there’s an appetite for showpiece events in London. The London Clash can grow and grow and is a unique opportunity for everyone to get together under one roof before the season. Who knows, if we go up maybe it’s a home and away derby as well. 3 games!”
“The relationship with the 2 Joes [Joe Grima and Joe Mbu] is great. In fact Joe Mbu spends a day a week at the Broncos and works as part of their team. It’s all great.”
The London Skolars kick off their season to York City Knights at the New River in the League 1 Cup on Sunday 1st March.
